Spring is here!
The Spring Real Estate Market is thriving, and we are seeing a significant increase in demand for homes in Voorhees, especially from millennials.
In fact, the current absorption rate in our area is only 3 months, which means that if no more homes come on the market, we will only be able to sustain the current demand for up to 3 months.
This is great news for anyone considering selling their home, as the high demand can lead to a boost in your bottom line.
If you are thinking about selling your home, now is the perfect time to do so. To get started, it's essential to focus on your curb appeal, which can significantly impact the value of your property. That's why we've put together a helpful checklist to help you get started.
Friendly reminder: Before you make a repair, be sure to check with a real estate agent to make sure it is worth your return on investment. Feel free to Book A Call with me if you have any questions or want a free consultation!

Ask most people what drives Bedford, Indiana's economy and Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane comes up first. What gets missed is General Motors, which has run a manufacturing plant on GM Drive in Bedford since 1942 and is still investing in it today.
Thinking about Bedford because of where you work? Call or text (812) 360-3863 and I will walk you through the local market.
GM Bedford Casting Operations is an aluminum die casting plant that produces cylinder blocks, transmission cases, structural components, and EV drive-unit housings, according to WBIW's October 2025 reporting. As of that reporting, the plant employed about 650 team members under plant director Elisha Huddleston.
GM has been retooling Bedford for EV production for several years now:
•December 2021: GM announced more than $51 million to prepare the plant for Chevrolet Silverado EV drive unit castings.
•November 2022: GM added another $45 million to expand EV drive unit casting capacity, bringing its total investment in the facility since 2011 to $377.1 million, per GM Authority.
•Those investment figures are the most recent publicly reported totals. GM has not announced a newer facility-wide investment number since.
Yes, on more than one front. GM Bedford Casting Operations put $8 million into a fire safety system upgrade in 2025, part of the same citywide investment wave covered in last week's John Williams Boulevard piece. The plant is also active in the community: it awarded a $60,000 Community Impact Grant to the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County in October 2025 to support STEAM education, the 15th year of GM's national grant program, and it hosted a free e-waste recycling event for the community in June 2026.
Bedford's economy does not rest on one employer, the same way Bloomington's does not rest on one either. GM, Crane, and the local limestone industry are three separate, long-running anchors, and a plant that has operated for over 80 years and keeps reinvesting in itself is a different kind of signal than a single new employer moving in.
If you work at GM, at Crane, or anywhere else in Lawrence County, and you're weighing Bedford against a longer commute, it is worth seeing what the market actually looks like. Bedford and Springville's median sale price runs well below Monroe County's, and downtown Bedford has been filling back in with new storefronts over the last couple of years.
About 650 team members as of WBIW's October 2025 reporting.

No. GM, Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, and the local limestone industry are three separate, long-standing employment anchors in Bedford.
If a job at GM, Crane, or anywhere in Lawrence County has you looking at Bedford, let's talk about what fits your budget. Call or text (812) 360-3863, or visit LesaMillerRealEstate.com.
